Your honesty and transparency is refreshing and just what I need right now...the past is history, the future is a mystery, this moment is a gift.
Ben, Investment Banker, London
Thank you very much for the introductory workshop, I found it very enjoyable…Your presentation, style and energy were wonderful and the location was spectacular....As I said to you, I particularly like your 'non fluffy' approach to divinity and the new energy consciousness, I feel it opens it up so much more to others - particularly men.
Sarah, Reiki Master, Leicester

Sri Ramana Maharishi of Tiruvannamalai, South India
For those of you who haven't come across Sri Ramana Maharishi, he's the gentleman you can see on your left.
Sri. Ramana Maharishi is undoubtedly one of the finest teachers to have graced us with His presence. When in his body, he refused to formally teach his followers anything, Sri Ramana, understanding the nature of the mind so well, merely encouraged those that were attracted to His presence to sit in stillness and pursue a method of Self awareness that came to be known as Self Enquiry, asking oneself repeatedly, "Who am I?"
Despite his insistence that he was not a teacher, Sri Ramana Maharishi is recognised as perhaps the most enlightened practitioner of the Hindui philosophy of Advaita, which means non duality.
Followers of this philosophy say that humans perceive the world as a duality, that their perceptions are constantly, and inaccurately, dividing experience into this and that, black and white, inside, outside, you and me. It is said that it is this is a false perception and it is this misperception that results in all human suffering and misery. We can only overcome this suffering by realisng the true nature of our mind, which is actually non dual, or One.
Advaita states that in Truth, all things are one. In Truth, there is only one, one energy, one vibe, one Self, One you, which is actually me, This means that all things are intrinsically linked and that we only have to realise the illusion of the perception of duality in order to experience the oness of Self. The experience of this Oness immediately releases us from all suffering and misery, which are part of the outer illusion. For example, if you can really see that what you considered as true, the outer experience of your life, is actually false (not even happening?!), you get immediately detatched from the suffering, since you understand with your being (not with your head) that its not real. This allows you to be released immediately from the suffering and be dissolved inthe true nature of your Self which is limitless and unifed, some say Enlightened. And this is how the experience of oness allows us to be free and happy...
All sounds very wonderful? The good news is that you can have that experience too. The only thing you have to do is, well, practice. Sri Ramana Maharishi understood how to do that very well. His discipline of Self Enquiry has been known as the shorcut to Self-Realisation since it is not fonded in any system, dogma or doctrine. It is only based in your self. Looking, or enquiring, after your Self. In this way it cuts straight to the chase. Even better, it's incredibly simple to practice. All you have to do is ask,, "Who am I?"
(And that's enough to keep me rather busy....)
Although Sri Ramana Maharishi is no longer in his body, His presence, support and unending Love continues to abound for his followers (and any others who care to look). He has an ashram in the magical town of Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, Southern India, Based at the foot of the sacred mountain, Arunachala, the ashram of Sri Ramana Maharishi is always, always worth a visit. We can help with trips and visits, should you feel moved to come. Email Piers for more info.
